I am happy to revert to the std Ubuntu sound stack and trouble shoot but
would like some assurance that I won't be left hanging - I don't mean to
cast aspertions, but my experience in OpenSUSE/Novell was terrible with
bugs left hanging. By hanging I mean not even told - "give up for the

I'm happy to convert this report into a question if you'd like to
continue troubleshooting, but to properly resolve this symptom you'll
need to revert to the original Ubuntu-distributed audio stack.
