Changing this to incomplete... on the final release did you have any
problems with the Kubunt uDesktop CD? Also are you able to boot a Gutsy
Desktop CD, even an Alpha release?

Adding pci=nommconf to the boot parameters allows 6.10 x86 Desktop to
boot OK. (Have not tried other releases.)

I have an HP dx7300 with the Q965 chipset and I can confirm that this
bug exists in the following ubuntu distributions:
6.10 x86 Desktop
6.10 AMD64 Alternate Install
6.06 x86 Desktop
The boot hangs and last message during boot is (similar to):
ACPI: Assume Root bridge [\_SB_.PCI]

Using the official Kubuntu release of Edgy I was still unable to boot.
Tried to pass several commands and all failed. I can't tell if this bug
is closed/or rejected or whatever it is, but it is still aproblem

When booting from 6.06.1 LTS and the Edgy Release Candidate by removing the
quiet from the boot the messages are the same:
