something fixable and maintainable.

Ok, attached are diffstat and changelog diff between both versions...
This new version is likely to fix all DVD ripping problems we had with the
older version and works far better for me.
the new debian changelog entries are the following:

I'm currently packaging it for Debian but for Ubuntu it might be too late.
Although it's a really great improvement over the old version the changes are
not trivial at all... have to think about it and test it a bit further.
