Thanks maik for the workaround. I had the same problem, and deleting
~/.pulse also "solved" it.
However, I would not consider this bug fixed before identifying *what*
broke the ~/.pulse directory and *how* (so that it does not happen
again...).
I kept a copy of my "buggy" ~/.pulse directory.

shame on me :D
delete the ~/.pulse folder and restart solved the problem ^^

update workaround
when i load following modules on startup:
#load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,0
#load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,0
from the default.pa
i can see the level of the audio and i can stream it to other programms.
but! than the sound, sounds terrible, crankle.

the level-meter for the mic-input over skype is working.
and for a short time also the output over skype shows me a level on
analog-stereo-output (5 min)

the old installed version caused the same problems, so that i tried the dev
version.
