"Show Current Layout" image not refreshing with new keymappin
Can you describe how you are updating the keymapping data? If you're
doing it manually, I'm not sure there's a way within xkeyboard-config to
automatically refresh the data.
I don't think it should be done automatically at boot, since 99.99% of
users are not going to be changing this. I agree th

Does not, that's why I asked and filed a bug report ^_^ (unless I
misunderstood what you mean, for which I apologize).
sudo rm -f /var/lib/xkb/* does the trick. When a geometry file from
which these .xkm files are being generated is newer than the .xkm file,
remove this .xkm file and it will be regenerated,
This process can be triggered by gnome-keyboard-properties and friends
or at startup of the machine.
