no, dunno what computer you work on but on a 5 years old laptop starting
applications does the spinning cursor for a few seconds, the probability
that an user has to aim on a spot just after starting something and
can't wait for the application to start is very low, it's a corner case
and not a bug

Not sure what package provides the cursor theme but we'd either need to
change the theme or change the default which I believe is managed in
g-s-d. Please reassign to a more appropriate place if needed.
