I noticed this problem too.
I was running Maverick, and had installed apt-show-versions there.
Then I upgraded to Natty and then immediately to Oneiric just now, and
noticed this problem.
As Gaurav pointed out, uninstalling and reinstalling apt-show-versions
fixed the problem. Dunno why.

I noticed the same problem after upgrading to maverick. Reinstalling
apt-show-versions fixed it.
$ sudo aptitude remove apt-show-versions
$ sudo aptitude install apt-show-versions
