You r
you're right, the acpi codes are not interpreted:
ben...@vaio-fe31m:~$ acpi_listen
F5 - bright down
sony/hotkey SNC 0001 0010
sony/hotkey SNC 0001 003b
F6 bright up
sony/hotkey SNC 0001 0011
sony/hotkey SNC 0001 003b
F7 display
sony/hotkey SNC 0001 0012
son
i mean every acpi_listen gives SNC code but does not do anything. i am
not taking about Volume + -, it works out of box including Mute, my
mistake i mentioned Mute in previous post. when AV Mode key is pressed
it runs Rhythmbox.

I too use nouveau driver not Nividia proprietary driver, acpi_listen
recognise key code when fn keys are pressed S1,S2,Eject,
Mute,F5,F6,F7,F10,channel -,channel +, TV Rec, and AV Mode but does not
activate event on my Sony Vaio VGN-AR690U. i managed to work F5 and F6
keys for controling brightnes
FN were working - missing package will cause every Sony laptop being in
trouble.
