same thing happens when booting pristine 10.10 RC from USB stick, so it
is not a problem of upgrade from 10.4.

I have the same issue with a Dell D600 and 10.10 beta i386 desktop and a MSI
U100 with 10.10 beta netbook remix.
These laptops used to have no issue coming back from standby with 10.04

* close the lid / choose suspend from power menu
* laptop suspends, power led starts slowly pulsing (ok)
