Title:
[edgy] mgp segfaults on startup

MagicPoint no longer uses dlopen() and was rebuilt from source, so the
original bug is gone.
You’re pointing out a couple of things in the comments which may or may
not have been separate bugs, but with the recent upload of
1.13a+upstream20090219-9 ought to be gone as well, for the actual
software
On 64-bit arches sizeof(int) is 4, sizeof(void*) is 8, so if that
function was expecting a 64-bit value, it used to get half of that full
of garbage. On 32-bit arches sizeof(int) == sizeof(void*), so you
wouldn't see anything.
But this should only come up when you're calling an undeclared functio
Righto,
I tried an x86_64/CentOS and saw segfaults too, however I
think I now have a fix here.
In draw.c there are two calls to XftFontOpen that are terminated with a

Whist debugging MagicPoint, I'd stack-traced to the XftFontOpen calls

I recall it was occuring on the transition to Page 4 of that

I see both bugs on Edgy as well.
Upstream won't even build, spitting out "gcc: no input files", which is
totally asinine.

Hi,
I can confirm this bug. I was trying to view Dave Jones' presentation
"Why Userspace Sucks", which he provides as an mgp file plus some
additional files:
http://www.codemonkey.org.uk/projects/talks/ols2k6.tar.gz
At first, mgp would crash as in the above report:
mgp -o slides.mgp
style.mgp
$ mgp /usr/share/doc/mgp/examples/tutorial.mgp
(... some harmless warnings ...)
libm17n-X.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
