I am now closing this bug as fixed since it appears to no longer occur
in Ubuntu 7.04.

I tested on Ubuntu 7.04 and disabling anti-aliasing appears to work. Can
you try out 7.04 and let me know if it works for you?

i have the same thing here, font are really awfull (some letters are
cropped)
