I used to be able to make rhythmbox really exit on close by diabling the status icon plugin. Since the Maverick update, disabling the status icon plugin does absolutely nothing to detach rhythmbox from the volumn control. I'm hoping there's a new hidden and counterintuitive option to do this, o
