Thanks for that comprehensive debugging output. From that I've found
your battery is reporting that it is at 1mV (probably due to an ACPI
bios fault) and therefore we are calcuating the value incorrectly. This
has been fixed in the last couple of weeks in HAL, adding it as a known

In dapper the battery state was reported correcty by the tooltip of
gnome-power-manager.
In edgy there are only 4 states:
#1 100% and 3 hours left
#2 66% and 2 hours left
#3 33% and 1 hour left
#4 0% and 0 hours left
present dischare current is reported
Here is what gnome-power-manager reports:
This fist step follows a second and a third step to 0%.
