yuri, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .
The released ubuntu-11.04-desktop-amd64.iso does not boot from flash
drive with the noveau driver. I had to go through the steps described
earlier to be able to boot from flash to hi-res Unity mode using nvidia
glx driver.
After installation from the flash and rebooting the display stays
garbled.
A correction for step 3): Instead of sudo usb-created-gtk run
sudo usb-creator-gtk

I was able to boot this image
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20110423/natty-desktop-amd64.iso
from a USB drive on ASUS G51JX-A1 laptop. Here are the steps:
1) Download the ISO image:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20110423/natty-desktop-amd64.iso
2) Prepare a USB Flash drive for us
