For what it's worth (now that the fix is already released) I can confirm
this worked for me in proposed and now that it's released, seems to have
fixed my issues.

Unless things changed recently, package stay in -proposed for seven days
before being promoted to -updates. That being said, this does not apply

fixed the hang when using auditd for me. I also tested around with
various GVFS backends (ssh, FTP, SMB), and they worked as expected. +1

I'm actually preparing a fuse security update for lucid that probably
will address this issue. I'll let you know when packages are available
for testing.

Hey Colin,
I might be doing something wrong, but this doesn't seem to fix the
problem. I've installed libfuse2 and fuse-utils from lucid-proposed per
the documentation you provided and I still get hangs when mounting fuse
file systems with audit rules applied.
