After the recent updates banshee (1.7.5-0ubuntu2) does work OK.
But, only without extensions (like lyrics) v. 1.7.4-1ubuntu1.
Installing an extension causes banshee to fereeze.

Banshee will crash almost immediately after startup no matter what you do.
This will happen both with or without the new community extensions.
You cannot downgrade to the older vesion 1.7.3 anymore because of newer
sqlite3.
