Thanks for the comments till.
But the normal keyboard from my friend is working fine. I just love using the
Ubuntu linux since it has debian as its base. Just planning to fix the problem.
As with SUSE of my friends system the keyboard is deteted
and is fine.

This has nothing to do with CUPS. A not working keyboard is most
probably a kernel problem.
