upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would

I am now certain that this bug was introduced with kernel 2.6.17-8

At first the acpi was ok, but since some time it seems to be completly
unable to detect the lid state (/proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state remains
blocked on "open"), and the power button seems to be unde
well, after removing package powernowd, it seems that the LID state is
blocked on closed now. I'll continue trying to figure out what makes
that damn state not ok (it works great under MS Windows, so it is
definitely a software problem)
