Tested here too, with a bunch of files, and I am not able to reproduce.
Can be your konqueror profile that is crappy.
Can you test with a new user and give feedback please ?

I just recently upgraded to Edgy and the problem no longer pops up. It
seems to be a Dapper-only problem...stll, should I send you a file
anyway? Like I said, it's random and happens to any *.html file I opened
in Kubuntu Dapper.

I am unable to reproduce this on edgy with kde 3.5.4. can you please
attach a file it crashes on for you so we can test with a file that
causes it for you.
