Hmm, indeed, I didn't notice it's not in Gutsy. I didn't install it
manually, I guess I installed it in Feisty (before it was removed) and I
have it installed since then.

Please do _not_ pull binaries from LP (that do not correspond to stable
or development releases) and file bugs against their source packages.
It is entirely unsupported. acroread was removed from feisty and, as
Ming says, is not available in current gutsy either.

Confirmed, the diff makes acroread possible of starting. Why isn't a new
version released, and how can this not be marked "critical"? Not being
able to start a program is, to me, rather critical.

get_gtk_file_ver($1) in the launch script ("bin/acroread"), I believe
