We have done several fixes in the size of the bar in ubuntuone-client
1.3.6, so please have a look. We still 'spam' too much IMO, but we are
working on a way to not show anything at all if you don't have an
account, so next few releases will hopefully have a better fix for the
spamming. But since t
not convinced that the spamming aspect is resolved, see for instance bug
#610725

It messes up ureadahead too, because when ureadahead creates a new
profile it will always end up with the browser in the pack file. Most
of us probably don't want that. I certainly didn't.

Yes, it's a bug, we haven't changed anything in the last few releases to
make it do this, so for some reason something is firing up the signing
up process. We are looking at it, so please don't panic, this is not
done on purpose, just a bug, so will be fixed soon

Access to Ubuntu One could quite reasonably be offered as an option
during the installation process. However, to make its installation
mandatory, so that only users with a moderate level of expertise can
free themselves of such an unwanted and unnecessary encumbrance, is not
a sensible decision.
