This bug has seen no activity for almost 6 years. Also, official
support for Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" has ended. If this issue is still
occurring on Ubuntu 16.04 "Xenial Xerus" please run ubuntu-bug to file a
new bug report so that we can get a fresh set of log files and system
info.
** Changed
I had this problem in ubuntu 10.04 and have it still. mkv files will run
smoothly for anything from one minute to half an hour or even more. Then
it starts to get choppy but the audio is file. Restarting totem fixes
the problem and I can even play the parts of the mkv file which were
choppy before
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. A new version of GStreamer is available on Maverick and
we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with that
version? Could you please test and comment back? Thanks in advance.
** Changed in: gstreamer0
This might be fixed in GStreamer Good Plug-ins 0.10.24. From the release
notes:
# 620358 : [matroskademux] Sorenson Squish WebM output seeking issues
# 620743 : matroskademux: refactor delta unit handling
# 619485 : matroskademux: skip buffers before a late keyframe (QoS)
Those are GNOME bug numb
