Oscar, can you try the Ubuntu package, but replace the file with the UDEV rules (AFAIR /etc/udev/rules.d/11-hplj10xx.rules) by the attached one? Does the firmware upload work then? Can you also check where usb_printerid is actually located (/usr/bin, /usr/sbin, ...) and set a symbolic link to /bin
