Thank you Brian for looking into this, alas, 13 months after the bug
occurred. ASAIK, the installation media was not faulty and was used in
several other installs. Its too late to re-test this today. 10.10 and
11.04 have pushed 10.04 into a dusty history for me. Might be best to
close this bug as
