Brian, I do agree with you... it seems that hdparm has no effect on my HD APM settings. To answer your questions, I think I'm using well hdparm -- I fixed the click problem of a friend computer by this way -- and the Samsung tool is working (I used 2 differents version, both on bootable CD's). S

@slasher-fun : Well, I do have a huge amount of Load_Cycle_Count, since I hear them 5 to 10 times in a minute (today I have a total value of 1711 !!). I don't know how the Power_On_Hours is counted... With actual increase rate, my HDD will die within one year (he is only 3 days old)! @Brian Visel
