Good question!
I upgraded using aptitude and if I press 'r' on the initscripts package
the see the reverse dependencies I get the following list: sysvinit,
bootchart, multipath-tools
None of them are installed so aptitude happily removed initscripts.
On the other hand:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-c
Why was the initscripts package removed?

Addition: with "reinstalling" I don't mean that the package was broken
but that it was not installed at all.
