I can confirm what Suzan (above) advises, Kino would crash every time on
opening but after removing the Kinoplus plugins package Kino would start
normally.

To this happens only, if I have the kino-plugins installed. If I only
install the package "kino" without additional plugins, kino starts
normal.
I thinks thats a fault of the plugins-packages.

I'm experiencing the same thing in Dapper (kino 0.80). I had Kino
working flawlessly with Debian Etch (Kino 0.90) -- and was able to
import all types of video formats with its new transcoding support using
mencoder and ffmpeg. I wish someone could figure out what's up because I
would love to get th
