you should use the Yahoo! username.
Gwibber doesn't give a warning when you use a wrong username, so that
could be why you are confused.

I have my flickr account working fine here under gwibber
2.30.0.1-0ubuntu3, have you tried to configure your flickr account with
your userid (flickr username) and not with yahoo credentials? Thanks!
