and have successfully verified that 2.0.5-1ubuntu0.1 from lucid-proposed
successfully resolves the (exception) issue.

I rejected the current upload, it's broken. You added a fix-
python-2.6.5-compat.patch, but apparently did something weird during
package build, so dpkg-source applied a debian-changes-2.0.5-1ubuntu0.1
patch which reverted your patch again. Please check debdiff before next
upload. Thanks!

I confirm this bug; it's due to a Ganeti 2.0 incompatibility with Python
2.6.5, which was fixed in Ganeti 2.1.
The bug fix is trivial:
