Thanks for that. I am still on Firefox 3.6.3 so I don't have your problem yet.
BTW Doesn't this remind you of "DLL Hell"? Perhaps Ubuntu should have
the concept of Assemblies like .Net.

I had the same issue, and determined that if Firefox 3.7 from the
mozilla-daily PPA is installed, it causes issues. I removed Firefox 3.7
and everything goes back to normal. This could be related to having
multiple xulrunner versions installed that are conflicting.
Firefox 3.7 ships with xulrunner
The fix suggested in Bug 290075 makes the Help -> Help Contents issue in
eclipse go away.

Hi,
I have been able to reproduce the problem on a clean instance of
eclipse on lucid by removing the main plugins - cfeclipse & android so
that eclipse stays up. Just go to Help -> Help Contents and eclipse
then crashes at the same point in libmozjs.so !
Hope this helps finding a quick solution to
Hi,
I have just done the eclipse update among others in the latest Lucid
update. Unfortunately the problem still persists - see attachment,

Hi Semmy,
Any news about this one? I hope it has not gone into the too hard
basket as I have been limping along using gedit, the command line &
FireFox which is suboptimal.
I should also mention I have 2 Eclipse workspaces - one for the
Android SDK and one for the CFEclipse stuff under a remote SVN
Hi Semmy,
Under Ubuntu 9.10 I could not get Eclipse going in the normal way so I
installed it via Yogarine PPA and then added the CFEclipse &
Subversion & Android Plugins via Eclipse itself. Prior to this I was
unable to add these plugins to Eclipse at all. Everything went along
swimmingly until I
Hi, John!
Thanks for the additional information. I've added the Yogarine PPA
using the instructions found here:
https://launchpad.net/~yogarine/+archive/eclipse
Can you tell me which of those plugins (if any) you installed via
Yogarine, and which ones you installed through Eclipse? Also, did y
Hi,
I am not surprised as I have both CFEclipse and the Android SDK
plugins installed on my version of Eclipse Galileo as well as the
latest Alwin Garside's PPA Yogarine for Eclipse itself. I suspect
there is some sort of interaction happening leading to an unexpected
state in OpenJDK.
Cheers,
John
I was unable to confirm this bug. I installed openjdk 6
(6b18-1.8-0ubuntu1) and Eclipse Galileo (standard version, not the
Enterprise-Edition). I able to create and run Hello World application
with no crashes.
