Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lighttpd
Hi, excuse me for wasting time if this is too minor to be a bug.. It seems lighttpd can't be uninstalled via apt-get remove lighttpd unless it is running: $ sudo apt-get remove lighttpd [...] Tar bort lighttpd ... * Stopping web server lighttpd [fail] invoke-rc.d: initscript lighttpd, action "stop" failed. dpkg: fel vid hantering av lighttpd (--remove): underprocess pre-removal script gav felkod 1 * Starting web server lighttpd [ ok ] Fel uppstod vid hantering: lighttpd E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) (pardon the partly swedish messages) The reason lighttpd wasn't running is that I already have apache using port 80. A very trivial workaround is to tell lighttpd to use another port, start it and then it can be removed. It's not a big bug, but it can be an annoyance for people who messes up their config-file so lighttpd won't start, or installs another service on port 80. /Öyvind ** Affects: lighttpd (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Can't apt-get remove lighttpd unless it's running. https://launchpad.net/bugs/57848 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
