Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can
conflict. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the
problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to
test. If a new profile helps
I was able to get firefox to use flash again by executing:
sudo apt-get remove swfdec-mozilla
and it updated my dependencies to use adobe instead. I still think that
I should be able to configure Firefox to use either without uninstalling
swfdec.
