Jaco D., this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . If possible, please test
the latest v3.2-rcN kernel (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once
you've tested
Kernel modesetting bug it looks like.

X uses a frequency too high for my monitor.
Workaround: I added
VertRefresh 43-74
to /etc/X11/xorg.conf. It works, but it does not solve the issue since KDE
does not let me set another frequency than 60 Hz.
