Yes, same here after upgrade to pm-utils 1.3.0-1ubuntu2. System now
suspends but blacklight remains off after resume.
This bug (below) seems similar to this new situation, but the bug is about to
expire because the op did not provide additional information:

@Marco. Yes, my Studio 1555 with fglrx behaves the same way after the
pm-utils update. Suspend succeeds but resume fails.

This affects me on my Dell Studio 1555 with fglrx ati driver installed.
Hibernate works fine. One thing has changed though: I did an update on
Saturday and pulled down a new pm-utils package. Since then, my laptop
suspends, but on resume it now gives the black screen of death :-)
Anyone else exper
I have the same problem with HP nc6320. Only difference is that it
(suspend to memory) have worked fine with 10.04 until I changed gnome-
screensaver properties to increase too short for me lock time. After
this change instead suspend I have locked screen. Hibernation is
working fine.

Suspend and hibernate both worked on Karmic.
same here, with 9.10 x86 it use to suspend after a few tweaks!
I clean installed lucid x86 and suspend stopped working, i cannot hibernate
because my swap is 2 GiB, and my ram is 4!

not suspend at all. It just locks the screen.

yes same issue with my VAIO VGN-SR35G... With 9.10 SUSPEND works very
good, it worked awhile after the update to 10.04 then now same issue as
above... BLACK SCREEN when trying to wake up system after SUSPEND...

I have the same issue with suspend, I cannot Hibernate as I have installed
ubuntu with Wubi on Windows 7.
using Ubuntu 10.04 ~Wubi install. 64 bit. on Dell 155 ATI Radeon

This bug effects me, on both 32 bit and 64 bit lucid. I have also
noticed the fan is significantly louder (related?). Using the uswsusp
package to suspend (with "--force") works, but not to hibernate.
