Downloaded the drivers from Realtek and installed the driver. Wireless
was able to work if I manually stopped then started up the wireless
connection. Then today I got the new update from Ubuntu, which contain
an update for acpi and now is working fine.

Looks familiar, except this is the first install on this laptop so it has never
worked before. Mine is a Toshiba L505-ES5018 and I am using a Linksys E-1000
router. I have other computers running Mac OS-X, Win 7 and an old Compaq M-2000
on Ubuntu Karmic Koala. All work fine with the router.
