If this is still broken for anyone else, please open a new bug - this
one's got confused with a large number of different machines in it.

With 2.6.17-8.22, suspend to ram works and resumes normally (and very
quickly). I note that the bootsplash is now gone completely.

A IBM Thinkpad T41 fails with kernel 2.6.17-7-generic too.
The system can't resume from suspend and hibernate crashes with a blank screen.
Kernel 2.6.17-6-686 handles suspension fine and hibernate does something with
the system but it ain't a hibernation. ;)

I have the same/similar prob on a Toshiba P30 3.47 Ghz Pentium 4 (with
hyperthreading), ATI graphics, using the proprietary fglrx driver. Laptop
suspends to ram fine, but will not recover without hard reboot. I am using the
2.6.17-7-generic kernel. This is edgy with all updates. This did work on
Hi, Same symptoms here with a Dell Latitude D810, ATI X600, fglrx 8.28.8 from
repository, all the latest packages from edgy (sept 11, 2006), in particular
kernel is 2.6.17-7-generic.
Additionally, the kernel doesn't react to SysReq keys (tried SysReq-O,
SysReq-I).
It used to work in dapper but w
No it does not react to caps lock and I can not ping it from another
machine.
I'll describe the visible reactions when it tries to come back from sleep:
* the blinking led return to the correct state (i.e. on)
* there are some noises on the cdrom (normal)
* the lcd remains off, completely off, wit
Is there any response from the machine when resuming? For example, does
caps-lock work, can you ping it from another machine, etc.

I'm seeing this or something very similar too: my ThinkPad X60 used to
suspend/resume to RAM without a problem in Dapper, but yesterday I
upgraded to Edgy and now although it suspends fine (and the syslog looks
reasonable) it won't resume.
