It works with the original debian-package of kinoplus:
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/graphics/kinoplus
This is the same version of kinoplus. Maybe just a litte fault in the
Ubuntu-package?

I also confirm this. Same error. Uninstalling kinoplus soves the
problem.

I can confirm this, I get the same error message. Without kinoplus kino
just works.
