I am using basic 256 under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. As of my writing this
(Tuesday, July 26 2011) I find it locks up while pressing certain
letters.

On two different systems (both 10.04 32-bit) I am able to consistently
make basic256 lock up.
To reproduce, open BASIC-256 version 0.9.2, click in the large code
editing box, and type "color red" (without quotes). After pressing the
last letter 'd', basic256 freezes. Attempts to close the applic
