Ok, now I tested this for the latest mainline kernel
(2.6.36-999-generic), and the problem did not occur. I remove the needs-
upstream-testing tag.

I can confirm and reproduce this behaviour on Lucid with 2.6.32-24
-generic-tuxonice (the tuxonice thing should not affect this at all).
However, it doesn't start right after boot time, but only when I have
tried and somehow failed to watch tv or scan for channels. I suspect it
might have something
