System -> Preferences -> Monitors (after install and restart with nvidia
proprietary drivers) gives:
...Graphics driver does not support necesssary extensions for this
(Monitors) tool...
Click yes to use vendors tool - nothing happens.
Click no and can only set 1024 x 768 or less. looks like
if I leave grub standard everything is fine but plymouth is a very low
resolution.
If i follow the guide it fixes plymouth but breaks my ttys
