I had this exact problem on Edgy. I shifted around the partitions on my
disk, deleting my original swap partition and creating a larger one. I
modified the swap entry in /etc/fstab, so the new swap space was mounted
with no problem.
However, hibernate stopped working immediately after. It took me

Can you check if you have proper swap partition specified in
/etc/mkinitramfs/initramfs.conf?
Just perform:
grep RESUME /etc/mkinitramfs/initramfs.conf
and compare with "cat /proc/swaps" output.
If it is not correct, change the conf file and run
sudo update-initramfs -u
Then reboot and try ag
acpi is a small utility that prints out the current battery status on
the command line. In general, bugs shouldn´t be filed against it

I think this should be under swsusp, but that doesn't seem to be a
package option anymore, so I think ACPI is good enough.
