Was mirage one of the plugins you removed?
I'm getting bitten by this bug too. For me, installing banshee-
extension-mirage cases banshee to start crashing. Removing mirage causes
things to work again.

It got resolved after removing all the plugins. Apparently some of the
plugins don't work.
