Ubuntu Oneric Volume Step Can Not be
It looks like the /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/volume_step setting is now
(in Oneiric Ocelot 11.10) ignored by whatever the new volume control
thing is in the GNOME 3 Shell, so both the keyboard multimedia keys and
the mouse wheel have larger step sizes than what I'd like to see.

I just compared the different ways to change master volume and found that it is
a bit messy: using the scroll wheel I need...
* 7 spins on the volume icon
* 4 spins on the slider of its menu
* 2 spins on the topmost slider of the audio settings window
...to change volume from 0% to 100%.
