There's a kernel oops in that /var/log/syslog attachment, which probably
has something to do with it. I don't think there's a ubiquity bug here.
I'd agree with Vassilis that checking the CD and the CD drive lens would
be a good idea.

Hi. Are you sure the CD you tried to install from is OK and that the
drive's lens is clean? You can test this by choosing the "Check CD for
defects" option that appears when the CD boots (on the screen where you
choose "Start/Install Ubuntu" ).
