Some updates:
* the workaround with suspend mode does not work anymore (probable a kernel
update some weeks ago.)
* disable pulseaudio and play to /dev/dsp -> hiccups after a minute or so.
* using an old live-cd (kubuntu 9.04, 64bit) -> no hiccups.
* using the Ubuntu 10.10beta, amd64 live system
Okay, so you're having underruns. Unfortunately, I have yet to learn how
to nail those down correctly.
