I confirm this bug in Maverick. I never saw this with network-manager.
That would be a separate bug anyway. Where is the upstream source for
notify-extension?

I'm not sure but I believe the number of notifications for network-
manager correspond to the number of networks available. If there are
three wifi networks in the vicinity, there seem to be three messages
"Don't show this message again".

The number of notifications for Firefox downloads seems to be the exact
same number as open windows. One has to have both notify-osd and
notifcation-daemon packages installed for this bug to appear.

actually, now after a reboot, it seems that things have been fixed.
Maybe there is a conflict between these package providing the same
server after all?

I'm starting to wonder if this is because I have notify-osd, xul-ext-
notify and notifcation-manager installed at the same time.

I'm up to the count of six or seven pop-ups per download now. And it
started to affect the notification for wireless connections from
network-manager as well.
