You would have to install the firefox-dbg and start firefox from a
console with "firefox -g". Then you would use gdb as described in
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace . At any rate, this appears to be no
longer a problem. Thank you very much for taking the time to report it!

i think there is a firefox-gdb app in apt. that is firefox debugger.
running that should get you a backtrace.

It seems like this problem appears to be fixed/gon ein version 1.5.0.5 (and 6).
Sorry I did not report this sooner but only the last couple of days I have been
able to test the new update.
How would I add a full backtrace however? In case I come across this again...?
