i think this should be closed. In the first place it sounds like the
user has some serious underlying sound issues which have nothing to do
with indicator-sound

Wayno, sorry for again asking but now the version in Lucid is indicator-
sound 0.1.3.1-0ubuntu2 can you please tell us if this is still an issue?

Can you please check if indicator-sound really installed there is a bug
in apt where indicator-sound gets uninstalled can you please check if
its really installed. sudo apt-get install indicator-sound will install
it if its not already installed
