This bug affected me to on 14.04 LTS. When I download and compile the
warzone2100 from the website (version 3.1.1) it works flawless. The
latest in the standard repos is 3.1 RC2.

The crash dump doesn't contain any debugging symbols, please install
warzone2100-dbg and see if it still crashes with a newer version of
warzone2100.
