I agree.
A patch should not be that hard to add another 9 handles and an option
to control the constrast of the handles. The engine already allows
control of the border shade and color the outline.
We have removed pixmap scrollbars from Dust and have received a lot of
positive feedback.

It would be a real win to use scrollbars from the theme engine instead
of pixmaps. I fear this alters the design too much though.

I agree the scrollbars should not be as obtrusive. I am working on some
refinements to light-themes including the scrollbars. Let me know what
you think of these? It does not overtake the UI of applications.
